Teen Talwar Shopping Mall Blaze
Karachi, Pakistan – A colossal Fire swept a Shopping Complex in front of Teen Talwar at Khayaban-e-Iqbal, setting dozens of shops ablaze and causing enormous monetary losses. The blaze started on the ground floor, primarily among clothing shops, before rapidly sweeping through other businesses in the shopping complex.
Firefighters Scramble to Extinguish the Blazing Inferno
As the fire increased, some rescue trucks and firefighters sped towards the area to extinguish the flames. Despite hours of sustained efforts, more than three dozen stores were turned into rubbles. Business people and shop owners swiftly relocated their goods in an attempt to minimize losses.
No One Reported Dead, Three Injured as a Result of Fume Inhalation
Fortunately, no loss of life resulted from the blaze. One fireman and two merchants, however, suffered from respiratory problems caused by inhaling smoke and were promptly hospitalized for treatment. Officialdom ensured the building was evacuated in its entirety as a precautionary measure.
Power Suspended as Investigation Begins
To prevent further losses, the supply of power to the shopping tower was shut down temporarily by K-Electric. The authorities ordered an inquiry to be held in order to determine the reason behind the fire outbreak. The ground floor, where there were hundreds of shops, was the most hit.
Shop Owners Demand Compensation for Heavy Losses
Traders affected by the fire are seeking compensation from the Sindh government since 35 shops were completely gutted, and the fire damaged another 80 shops. The majority of the traders are now suffering from extreme financial hardships due to the unforeseen tragedy.
The authorities continue to make the damage estimate since fire safety in commercial establishments is still a prevailing issue in Karachi.
