KARACHI – The Sindh government announced a public holiday in government schools and private schools on Friday due to Shab-e-Barat. All the public and private schools of the province will remain closed.

Sindh is the only Pakistani province to officially declare a public holiday for Shab-e-Barat 2025, which is a significant Islamic festival also known as the Night of Fortune and Forgiveness. The public holiday will allow people to observe religious traditions and pray.
Sindh Education Department Official Announcement
The Sindh Education Department has declared all schools, including private schools, closed officially. The decision was taken in the wake of the fact that the day is significant from a religious perspective.
Holiday Declared in Jamshoro for Urs of Hazrat Lal Shahbaz Qalandar
In a related statement, the Jamshoro district administration announced Monday, February 17, 2025, as a public holiday for the Urs of Hazrat Lal Shahbaz Qalandar. Government offices, schools and colleges, and public sector organizations in Sehwan will remain closed to facilitate the pilgrims from across the country to observe the annual festival.
