The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has issued a reminder for citizens aged 18 and above to apply for their National Identity Card (NIC) within 90 days of turning 18.
Legal Requirements Under NADRA Ordinance 2000
As per Section 9(1) of the NADRA Ordinance 2000, failing to apply for an NIC within the required timeframe can lead to penalties. These include imprisonment for up to 6 months, a fine of up to Rs50,000, or both.
