Islamabad High Court Summons FPSC Chairman
ISLAMABAD – Islamabad High Court (IHC) has summoned the Chairman of the Federal Public Service Commission (FPSC) on a petition for the rescheduling of the Upcoming CSS examination. Justice Kayani heard the case and said that the court had earlier decided to suspend the schedule of the examination but later referred the matter back to the FPSC.
Petition Filed Against Exam Schedule
On 4th February, without the prior consideration of affected applicants, FPSC released admission certificates. The commission released the duty roster on February 3rd with a new scheduled examination date, which was further aggravated after issuing such a declaration because it awaited the previous examination’s result.
Tens of Thousands of Candidates Affected
The petitioners further argued that more than 3,000 candidates, among them clients, suffered due to the FPSC actions. They asserted that the FPSC should have declared previous exam results first before conducting the new one for a just and transparent procedure.
Candidates Demand Postponement of CSS 2025 Exam
Recently, hundreds of thousands of civil service aspirants raised a hue and cry protesting at the postposing of the 2025 CSS exam till after the official release of the result of 2024.
Those candidates feel the delay in an official result creates hindrances during preparation.
Problems That Surface Through Protestation
The basic problems that surfaced as a result of this protest have been given hereunder:
- MPT Postponed: The CSS 2025 MPT was postponed by more than a month.
- MPT Too Tough: The MPT was too tough and had left more than 10,000 candidates high and dry.
- Result Also Delayed: The delay in the results of the 2024 examinations has increased the level of tension among the candidates.
Earlier Judgment of Courts Concerning Scrapping Exams
Justice Kayani stated that the high court initially chose not to suspend the examination schedule. Instead, it left FPSC to resolve the issues independently. However, recent reports and candidate complaints have brought the matter back to the IHC.
Conclusion
