{"id":862,"date":"2026-05-12T19:50:04","date_gmt":"2026-05-12T19:50:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dailypakistannews.com\/?p=862"},"modified":"2026-05-12T19:50:04","modified_gmt":"2026-05-12T19:50:04","slug":"trump-insists-us-doesnt-need-chinas-help-in-iran","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dailypakistannews.com\/?p=862","title":{"rendered":"Trump insists US doesn&#8217;t need China&#8217;s help in Iran"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>WASHINGTON: US President Donald Trump insisted Tuesday he does not need help from China on ending the war with Iran but said he would talk at length with Xi Jinping when they hold a summit this week.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Trump told reporters before leaving for Beijing that \u201cwe\u2019re going to have a long talk about it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>China is a top economic partner of Iran, buying much of its oil output, and also an important diplomatic backer.<\/p>\n<p>However, Trump underlined that he does not need Xi to find an exit from the conflict that started two and a half months ago with a massive US-Israeli attack before settling into a stalemate over control of the Strait of Hormuz shipping route.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Also read: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.brecorder.com\/news\/40416021\/trump-threatens-china-with-50-tariff-if-it-helps-iran\">Trump threatens China with 50% tariff if it helps Iran<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have a lot of things to discuss. I wouldn\u2019t say Iran is one of them, to be honest with you, because we have Iran very much under control,\u201d Trump said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re either going to make a deal or they are going to be decimated.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Amid reports that China continues to help arm Iran and purchase sanctioned oil, Trump said Xi has \u201cbeen relatively good.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey get a lot of their oil from that area. We\u2019ve had no problem. And he\u2019s been a friend of mine.
