I started really well, \u200bbut I dropped the level,\u201d four-time Grand Slam champion Sabalenka said in Rome.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI felt like my body was limiting me from performing at the highest \u200blevel. She stepped in and played incredible tennis. She didn\u2019t \u200breally give me many opportunities.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat was a tough one. But I guess we \u200cnever \u2060lose; we only learn, so it\u2019s okay.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Sabalenka\u2019s disappointing claycourt swing follows a stellar run on hardcourts, during which she captured the Brisbane title, reached the Australian Open final and claimed back-to-back trophies \u200bin Indian Wells \u200band Miami.<\/p>\n<p>The \u2060Belarusian said she now hoped to recover her fitness in time for the French Open, which \u200bgets underway in Paris on May 24, after losing \u200blast \u2060year\u2019s final against Coco Gauff.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019d say that probably it\u2019s like my lower back, connected to the hip, which limited my full rotation,\u201d \u2060the 28-year-old \u200badded.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI guess we\u2019re just going to \u200bhave some days off. We\u2019re going to spend it on recovery.
