{"id":1154,"date":"2026-05-14T11:50:08","date_gmt":"2026-05-14T11:50:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dailypakistannews.com\/?p=1154"},"modified":"2026-05-14T11:50:08","modified_gmt":"2026-05-14T11:50:08","slug":"gwadar-university-vc-pro-vice-chancellor-go-missing-while-travelling-to-quetta","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dailypakistannews.com\/?p=1154","title":{"rendered":"Gwadar University VC, pro-vice chancellor &#8216;go missing&#8217; while travelling to Quetta"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>QUETTA: The vice chancellor and pro-vice chancellor of the University of Gwadar, who had left Balochistan\u2019s port city for Quetta, have gone missing, officials told <em>Dawn<\/em> on Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>Vice Chancellor Dr Abdul Razzaq Sabir and Pro-Vice Chancellor Syed Manzoor Ahmed have been missing for the past 24 hours, the officials said on Thursday afternoon.<\/p>\n<p>Babar Yousafzai, an aide at the Balochistan Home Department, said Dr Sabir and Ahmed had left for Quetta along with a driver and another varsity employee on Wednesday morning.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBut they have not reached Quetta so far,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>The official further said the travellers\u2019 mobile phones had been switched off after they reached Mastung.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAll efforts are under way to trace the vice chancellor, pro-vice chancellor and two others traveling them,\u201d Yousafzai said.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, police officials in Mastung told <em>Dawn<\/em> that the possibility of kidnapping could not be ruled out.<\/p>\n<p>A senior police official also said that there had been no communication with Dr Sabir and Ahmed since they reached near the Khud-Kocha area of Mastung on the Quetta-Karachi National Highway.<\/p>\n<p>The official said that \u201csecurity forces and district administration were jointly making efforts to trace the four missing people, and a search operation is under way in the area\u201d.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>QUETTA: The vice chancellor and pro-vice chancellor of the University of Gwadar, who had left Balochistan\u2019s port city for Quetta, have gone missing, officials told Dawn on Thursday.
