Quetta, Feb 14, 2025: Four of them had martyrdom while four others became injured as their bus came under attack with the intensity of an inciting fatal blast in the Harnai region of Balochistan near Shahrag locality. The security agencies have earned credit for performing the act of detonating an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) ahead of the roadside for the bus of workers and blowing it up to create havoc.
Casualties and Official Confirmation
Deputy Commissioner Hazrat Wali Kakar confirmed that nine people were killed in the blast and that two others succumbed to their injuries later, bringing the total number of fatalities to 11. The authorities had already admitted the victims to a local hospital.
Security Measures and Investigation Underway
The security officers subsequently sealed the area and held an on-the-spot inquiry. The report further stated that the IED was planted in the middle of the road with the aim of destroying the staff vehicle.
The government is trying to arrest the assailants of this fatal attack. The Balochistan government has asked for an inquiry into the attack so that the assailants can be arrested. They do not want such an accident to occur in the future again.

Most of the victims were rural laborers from Swat and Shangla districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, as per details uncovered by the Mines Department. This devastating accident shocked the victims’ families, and they now demand improved safety for rural laborers.
