ISLAMABAD – The Pakistan Bar Council (PBC) has dismissed a disciplinary complaint against an advocate and, in a separate ruling, restored a lawyer’s licence, with Justice Muhammad Ali Mazhar setting out important principles governing professional ethics, client relations and the administration of justice.
Important rulings on professional conduct set precedents. The bar council is doing its regulatory duty.
Lawyers need accountability too. Glad to see the bar council taking disciplinary matters seriously.
Legal profession in Pakistan needs more such scrutiny. It builds public confidence in the justice system.
Restoration of licence means due process was followed correctly. That’s how the system should work.
